The Art of Paper – National Paper Art Exhibition

Paper artists hold these types of joint exhibitions in high regard and so for the foreseeable future, a collaborative Finnish paper art exhibition will be held once every three years. 

This fall, TR1 Kunsthalle in Tampere introduces audiences to Finnish paper art.
In the hands of skilled professionals, paper has turned into a natural source for making art.
The Art of Paper exhibition brings together artist that are willing to experiment on different techniques and source materials open-mindedly. Paper artist are known for constantly developing new and original ways of work. Also for many, using one’s hands, sustainability and eco-friendliness play an important part in art making.

The exhibition pieces reveal a variety of differing points of view ranging from the delicately aesthetic to animal rights, from reprocessed words to self-reflection. As the basis of their works, the artists have used such raw materials as old books, paper money, tea bags, magazines, water reeds, and the oldest paper of all -bee hives.
